B.A. Physcics and Psychology, Washington University St. Louis
I wish to pursue a research career at the intersection of physics of the brain and the application of machine learning for furthering our understanding of psychological disorders that will enable better practices in diagnosis and treatment regimens in clinical psychology. This will enable the integration of client-therapist work with functional brain imaging to understand the interactions between the external expression of mental illness and the internal biological underpinnings of these illnesses. I am particularly interested in the formation of neural connectivity patterns in individuals at risk for psychosis and mood disorders and I hope to apply fundamental math and physics concepts, rules, and models, to explore the dynamic behaviors of the brain as it forms beliefs.
